1) The terms and conditions apply to all business transactions carried out by GB Showplates, hereinafter referred to as the ‘Company’.
2) The person applying for bespoke goods from the ‘Company’ is hereinafter referred to as the ‘Purchaser’.
3) Your statutory rights are not affected.

The DVLA regulations state that we must see ORIGINAL Proof of Identity AND Proof of Entitlement for all road legal show plates. A full list of acceptable documents is shown below. We are unable to manufacture or despatch your plates until these documents have been received and the details contained therein logged on our data base.

Proof of Identity (one from the following)

  • Driving Licence (preferred) – any Country
  • Bank/Building Society Statement
  • Electricity, Gas, Water Bill or Landline telephone, Council Tax bill
  • Passport – any Country
  • Credit/Debit card issued by a Bank or Building Society only
  • Police Warrant Card
  • Armed Forces Identity Card
  • National Identity Card
Proof of Entitlement (one from the following)
  • Registration Document (V5C) preferred
  • Tear off slip from V5C (V5C/2)
  • Authorisation Certificate (V948) PLEASE NOTE : This Certificate is valid for six weeks from the date of issue. It is a temporary authorisation to purchase show plates. It enables the keeper to buy plates and use the vehicle in advance of receipt of the V5C/V5C(NI) which might take a couple of weeks to arrive. Please therefore ensure your Certificate is valid before forwarding to us.
  • Certificate of Entitlement to a Mark (V750)
  • Cherished Transfer Retention Document (V778)
  • Vehicle Licence Renewal (V11)
  • Temporary registration Certificate (V379)
  • Authorisation slip from DVLA Local Office with official DVLA stamp
  • Copy of the schedule of vehicles supplied by a hirer/leasing company under the hire contract agreement together with a letter of authority on company headed notepaper. This letter must quote the V5C document reference show.

Section 13 of the Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000 (Statutory Instrument 200 No.2334) no cancellations are accepted once your order has been placed be that by internet, telephone or through the mail. Subsequently there is no ‘cooling off period’, the transaction cannot be reversed and no refund can be given. Therefore It is the sole responsibility of the Purchaser to ensure that all details are entered onto Company Internet forms and submitted correctly. Under the Distance Selling Regulations the Company must notify you that the service we provide begins as soon as an order is received online.

The transaction cannot be reversed and no refund can be given. In no circumstances will the Company be made responsible by the ‘Purchaser’ who wishes to cancel the agreement or change his or her order.

If the failure is with the company then in this case any payment made shall be refunded in full, provided that the failure is through no fault of the Purchaser.

The liability is limited to a full refund only and no claims for damages; interest on monies paid or any other expenses will not be considered.

Whilst every attempt is made to ensure the fastest possible dispatch of goods, the Company cannot guarantee any specific time period for the entire transaction. The Company cannot accept responsibility for delays or errors caused by the postal system or third party carriers for which it has no control.

If in the unlikely event that the plates arrive at the purchaser damaged or faulty please send back for inspection by the companies technicians. Plates checked and seen to be damaged during mailing to the purchaser or found to be faulty will be manufactured again from scratch and dispatched. Damaged plates will be replaced at our discretion. Materials used in the companies plate building process ensure that the plates supplied always fulfill necessary quality standards laid down by law.

Plates supplied by the company ( GB Showplates ) are Show Registration Plates which are made and supplied for “off road” use only, car shows exhibitions, private land etc, where the law does not apply. Due to the restrictions of trade given by the ‘DVLA’ all registration plates, legal design style or not will be sold to the Purchaser on the basis of being for show use only and the Purchaser may risk prosecution it the registration plates are used on UK highways.

If you have the copyright to any image used on the companies website and it causes concern to you please contact us and we will endeavour to solve the issue.

It is the purchasers responsibility to make sure all selection of spacing on the plate is compliant with relevant regulations.

Showplates are by their nature personalised products therefore refunds or returns are not valid if you change your mind or don’t like the received items. The online plate builder gives an example of the plate design and look you have chosen. The plates supplied by the company will resemble closely the image shown. They may though have slight differences due to website software limitations.
