Costing $8 million, this is certainly a car for the super–rich. Originating from Germany, it is a two–seater coupe, with a top speed of 218 mph and an acceleration of 0–60 mph in 4.4 seconds. With its 550 hp v12 engine, stunning looks and a technological specification that certainly warrants reading the handbook, what more could a person want?

2. Bugatti Veyron Supersport

This one seems cheap by comparison at $2.6 million, however it is the ultimate Bugatti. It receives a massive 1,200 hp from its quad–turbo 8.0 litre w16 engine and the beauty of this super sleek car will take one's breath away. The standard built aerodynamics help it reach an incredible top speed of 267.81 mph. Built in France, the interior is the ultimate in comfort and luxury.

3. Ferrari 599XX

The Italian built Ferrari 599XX is great value–for–money at around $2 million. Under the bonnet there is a 700–hp V12 engine, giving incredible performance and 0–60 mph in 2.9 seconds. The 599XX cannot be driven on the road, as it's the track version of the road legal GTB Fiorano.

Ferrari have a new version in the pipeline which has improved looks and sound, if that is possible; but the Ferrari FXX will cost in excess of $2 million.

4. Zenvo STI

This futuristic looking car comes from Denmark. It reaches 0–60 mph in 2.9 seconds with the help of its 1,250hp turbocharged and supercharged 7.0 litre V8 engine. It really does seem like an incredible deal at $1.8 million, especially as it comes from some outlets with a free $50,000 watch!

5. Koenigsegg Agera R

This model, from the Swedish supercar manufacturer Koenigsegg has a powerful twin–turbo 5.0 litre engine V8, which runs on E85 ethanol, making it eco–friendly. It can travel 0–60 in 2.9 seconds. Forget the boxy Volvo designs that the Swedes are famous for – this car is stunning at $1.711 million.

6. Lamborghini Reventon

This is one of the most expensive and powerful sports cars to roll off the Lamborghini production line. From Italy with a 6.5 L V12 engine, it will take the car from 0–60mph in 2.9 seconds. Priced at a very reasonable $1.6 million, this will be sure to turn heads.

7. Aston Martin One-77

Although this car looks very traditional from the exterior, there is nothing retro about the engine and the interior. At $1.4 million and built in the UK, it is a full carbon–chassis vehicle with a 7.3 litre v12 engine which generates a staggering 750 hp. It will travel from 0–60 mph in 3.7 seconds. Only 77 were ever made, which makes this car even more desirable.

8. Maybach Landaulet

Another piece of German ingenuity, this luxury saloon car is quite a bargain at $1.4 million and is a serious contender to the Rolls Royce and the Bentley. It has a convertible rear and a colour coded interior with a privacy division between the driver and passengers. There is a twin-turbo v12 engine which gives an impressive 0–60 mph in 5.2 seconds.

Let's also not forget the Bugatti Veyron Legend Meo Constantini at $2.8 million, the Lamborghini Sesto Elemento at $2.2 million and the amazing Pagani Huayra $1.3 million, as these are equally captivating.
